Course Description:

Weapons Manipulation and Threat Response Course

This course provides individuals with instruction in various specialized tactical operational techniques designed for use in crisis, life endangering emergency situations which often involve armed confrontation. The course will cover multiple types and appropriate application of weapons including empty hands, edged weapons and firearms.

 

Course Objective:

  • To prepare individuals to evaluate, react to and control emergency situations of a critical or
    unusual nature.
  • To develop self-reliance, self-confidence, and awareness of ones physical limitations and
    provide tools and options to solve use of force problems.
  • To develop practical skills for use in high risk situations with emphasis on different types of
    weapons.
  • To develop familiarity and proficiency with firearms and non-lethal methods of control.

HANDCUFFING TECHNIQUES

 

The proper application of Handcuffs acts to protect both the arresting officer as well as the suspect. Using the right techniques will shorten the time required to control a noncompliant suspect and reduce the need for other control techniques; the use of which may increase the chance of injury.

 

Basic Course: 4 hours

Legal considerations, maintenance, fundamental ideas and basic manipulation, handcuffing both cooperative and non-complaint subjects, controlled take-downs.

 

Advanced Course: 8 hours

Includes all elements of the basic course, additional take down and ground control options, and practical scenarios.

Extreme Tactical Baton

The XTB (Extreme Tactical Baton®) is renowned for its simplicity and speed. It is the ultimate intermediate weapon for crowd control, blocking and officer survival.

The XTB Baton is offered in 2 Course Levels:

Basic Course: 4 hours

Basic baton manipulation,strikesandblocks.

Advanced Course: 8 hours

Includes all elements of the basic course, advanced techniques, and joint locks and takedowns.

 

EXPANDABLE BATON – 4/8 Hours

SIDE-HANDLED (PR-24) BATON – 6/8 Hours

SIDE-HANDLED BATON

 

The side-handle baton (PR-24) is recognized for its great versatility.

Effective for striking and blocking, the side-handled baton is a superior choice for control techniques.

Basic baton manipulation, strikes and blocks.

Advanced Course: 8 hours

Includes all elements of the basic course, as well  as joint locks and takedowns.

PERSUADER DEFENSIVE KEY HOLDER – 4 Hours

PERSUADER DEFENSIVE KEY HOLDER

 

The defensive key holder (persuader or Kubotan) has proven to be one of the most effective weapons of opportunity. In the hands of well-trained person, it is both discreet and highly effective.

Course Duration: 4 hours

Striking movements, pressure points and self-defence techniques.

Students who successfully complete this course will be certified by “Technical Training Systems” founded by Professor George Sylvain.

TACTICAL HANDGUN – 16 Hours

TACTICAL HANDGUN

Tactical Handgun focuses on applying handgun techniques to real-world tactical situations.

Course Duration: 16 hours

 

In this course students will sharpen their skills by use of reality-based scenarios, dynamic movement and unconventional shooting positions such as: shooting from the ground and on the move and engaging from static and moving vehicles.

TACTICAL RIFLE – 16 Hours

TACTICAL RIFLE

 

Tactical Rifle focuses on the basic techniques of the tactical assault rifle.

 

Course Duration: 16 hours

By use of realistic dynamic scenarios students will learn how to effectively employ these weapons in diverse environments.  This course stresses shooting while on the move, how to engage from a vehicle and shooting from various positions.

TACTICAL SHOTGUN -16 Hours

TACTICAL SHOTGUN

Shotguns are often thought of as too crude of a weapon for Law enforcement. However this vastly underappreciated weapon, when used properly, can be a tremendously versatile tool. From breaching doors to delivering precision takedowns the Tactical Shotgun is truly a refined weapons system.

Tactical Shotgun focuses on applying Shotgun techniques to real-world tactical situations.

 

Course Duration: 16 hours

USE-OF-FORCE – 4 Hours

When a situation escalates, the use-of-force continuum when applied properly, not only protects the suspect but the arresting officer as well.

CTTA’s Use-of-Force courses familiarizes the participant with the basic concepts of the legal aspects of use-of-force continuum and applied theory in a easy-to-learn format.

Course duration 4 hours

RISK SYSTEM PRESSURE POINTS TACTICS (PPT)

 

The use of pressure points to control or slow down an aggressor is an effective and proven tool used by police and security personnel.

The Pressure Points System (PPT) is an effective and combat proven systems that conforms well to the use-of-force continuum.

Course Duration: 8 hours

In PPT students will learn the location of the Pressure Points on the human body and various techniques for effectively applying control with them.

 

FIREARMS FOR EXECUTIVE PROTECTION -16 Hours

FIREARMS FOR EXECUTIVE PROTECTION

Above all else, the role of the protection agent is to ensure the client’s security.  In this course students will focus on reaction-based shooting exercises and scenarios with a client.

Firearms for Executive Protection – 16 hours

Participants will learn protection level Tactical Shooting based on real-world scenarios. Class will cover both theory and live-fire exercises

  • Multiple Agent Engagements  (Team Shooting)

R.I.S.K. Street Survival Tactics (RISK SST)

RISK SST

The RISK Street Survival Program (RISK SST) introduces the participant to the fundamentals of criminal behaviour, to personal, mental and physical conditioning, and easy-to-learn and effective self-defense techniques. Street Survival evolved from our Defensive Tactics System. It employs many of the same techniques that made RISK DT great, without having the same use-of-force criteria as police officers.

RISK SST is tailored to the needs of our students and can be adapted to almost anyone regardless of age or gender.

RISK SST is offered in two 12 hour Levels
