The present day investigator plays a much more active role in the prevention and detection of fraud and other everyday crimes.  The investigation field covers such a wide range of functions requiring most investigators to wear many different hats; from interviewer to intelligence gatherer, to corporate espionage consultant to surveillance agent.

Course Description:

Weapons Manipulation and Threat Response Course

This course provides individuals with instruction in various specialized tactical operational techniques designed for use in crisis, life endangering emergency situations which often involve armed confrontation. The course will cover multiple types and appropriate application of weapons including empty hands, edged weapons and firearms.

 

Course Objective:

  • To prepare individuals to evaluate, react to and control emergency situations of a critical or
    unusual nature.
  • To develop self-reliance, self-confidence, and awareness of ones physical limitations and
    provide tools and options to solve use of force problems.
  • To develop practical skills for use in high risk situations with emphasis on different types of
    weapons.
  • To develop familiarity and proficiency with firearms and non-lethal methods of control.

PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

The objective of this programme is to prepare the participant to enter the world of private security and effectively protect people, property and information. It offers an overview of important changes having occurred over recent years in both the public and private security domains. The course content presents a realistic view of the evolution of an industry containing an increased variety of tasks and responsibilities, requiring the involvement of better trained and more informed professionals.
Successful completeion of this programme will allow you to apply for your Private Security Guard license with the Private Security Bureau (PSB) / Bureau de la Sécurité Privée (BSP). www.bureausecuriteprivee.qc.ca

 

This programme is 75 hours and includes the following three courses:

 

Course # 1: Field, Functions, Laws and Standards of Behavior (35 hours)
This course offers the portrayal of the basic fundamentals of the functions of a Professional Security Officer. It allows the participant to discovery the world of private security while absorbing the elementary notions of their future profession.

 

Course # 2: Procedures In Emergency Situations (24 hours)
During the execution of their duties, security officers must be capable of identifying potential risks regarding both people and property. Beyond being aware of the elements of risk prevention, officers must be prepared to face crisis situations and react rapidly and efficiently as to ensure the safety of all involved.

 

Course # 3: First Aid and CPR (16 hours)
This course consists of First Aid and  Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) officially recognized by the CSST.

 

Employment Opportunities
The theoretical and practical knowledge and skills acquired in this program will allow our students to work as a security officer with a private security agency or directly with a company. The job placement rate in the Montreal area is 95%.
